Functions of the water

The house stores significant amount of water for different functions:

  • regular utility function
  • heat energy storage
  • temperature control
  • reserve

Storage of the water

The water stored in metal tanks and separated two different sections: cold (blue) and hot (red) in heat insulated containers.

The water tanks are not under the pressure of the outside water system.

The first water tank is filled from the outside grid according to its water level applying similar method as toilet tanks are filled.

Neighboring tanks are connected with communicating vessels providing the same level of water in the tanks but separating them allowing to be on different temperature without direct heat exchange.

The tanks separated from each other allow airflow between them.

The hot section is smaller because of the demand.

The flow of the water shown with arrows.

Utility water system

The utility water system use water from the water tanks.

Because the water tanks are not under pressure, local, electric water distributor pressure machine used for the cold and for the hot water supply of the house. (black circles)

Hot water takeout upper arrow (hottest place)
Cold water takeout lower arrow (warmest place down)

The pipes of the utility water system go through the floor, and for the upper level trough the technical rooms directly to the appliances.

Part of the used utility water is reused for irrigation. Reusable are the water used in shower and for washing. The reusable water is not collected but drained outside to the rain drain channels.
